Boots on the Ground – First Meeting | June 29, 2025

Welcome to the beginning of something powerful. This is the video recording of the very first Boots on the Ground public meeting, held on June 29, 2025, at The Eagle Wilton Manors. It marks the launch of a movement rooted in resistance, community, education, and love. We are leatherfolk, kinksters, allies, and freedom fighters. We are unapologetically queer. And we are showing up to defend democracy.

In this one-hour session, we lay the groundwork for what’s to come:
🥾 Why Boots on the Ground was founded
📚 What we’re fighting for and how we’ll do it
✊ How you can get involved in the work of building a freer future

We believe that even in the face of rising authoritarianism, we have the power to organize, educate, and win. No authoritarian regime in history has withstood organized opposition from just 3.5% of the population. We’re building that 3.5%—together. Because our rights aren’t a fetish—they’re fundamental.

Join us for a powerful one-hour class exploring the Black Civil Rights Movement in America — from the Civil War to today. Through stories of courage, resistance, and hope, we’ll examine key moments like the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington, and the rise of Black Lives Matter. This class connects historic protest techniques to modern activism, offering practical inspiration for taking action in today’s political climate. Whether you’re new to civil rights history or looking to deepen your knowledge, this class is a call to learn, to reflect, and to rise!
